Sorry :(

Well taking a look back at my blog and I havent posted since last Wednesday! I am really sorry :( dont know how all the other bloggers stay on top of their blog so well!

Last week was a busy week for me though and I have a lot to tell you.  I have new nails to blog about and I ran a half marathon! I was so proud as on Sunday I ran 13.1 miles in 3 hours :D on the down side it did mean that I didnt get any blogs written or any of my washing done but it did make me feel good at the end

Unfortunately it does mean that I dont have a pink Wednesday entry but I do have 2 nail art designs to show you.

This manicure took forever to do but in the end it was worth it and not only that but I was able to replicate it onto both hands with out to much of a difference :D

The nails below are a friends nails.  She was going out to a party and wanted something that she couldnt have done herself so I gave her faded blue base with purple stars.  Hope everyone there liked them

What do you think? Do you like the retro spots or prefer the dainty stars better?

Pink Wednesday Number 1

Well for my first Pink Wednesday I thought I would start with a recent discovery, OPI Princesses Rule (not sure if this is still available).

This was in a post that I put up last week but the Fimo didn't last very long.  I think that I made them a little to thick! Anyway I thought that this colour deserved a swatch and a post to itself.  What better day to do that than Pink Wednesday.

I was rifling through my mums old beauty stuff trying to find anything I could make use of and I found the most beautiful glittery sheer pink. When you put it over natural nails you end up with a sparkle but nothing near as lovely as what is in the bottle. I tried putting over other colours but the one that worked the best was a white base from LA Colors.  It is my favourite colour at the moment to wear to work and loads of people have commented on it.  Its a pearlescent baby pink and when the light hits them there are hint of gold.

I think this would great for a bridal manicure colour whether its on its own or with nail art stamps.

What do you think of this? Any design ideas for this colour?

Busy Weekend is bad for Blogging

Well as I said a few posts ago I am terrible with technology! I had 2 posts that were supposed to go up last week.  One on Thursday and one on Saturday but for some unknown reason the schedule didn't work (any advice would be great ?!) I have just posted one of them up.  It was my second set of St Patrick's nail art.  The other which I will be uploading later this week was just a swatch of some new nail polish that I got but its just a little bit frustrating!

On the upside my mum had a brilliant mothers day as I and my brother thoroughly spoilt her! On the Saturday we took her shopping and then went bowling as a family and on the Sunday (after my training) we had a huge roast and went to see the rest of the family! So I am sorry that I didn't get to post but it was worth it because my mum is smiling from ear to ear now :D

Anyway back to the nails.  Here is some Fimo Nail art as it was something new I thought I would do that.

Sorry the pic is a very very bad quality! I will have to make sure that I get a good quality camera soon! (Any recommendation)

2nd St Patricks Day nails

Gonna keep it short today. Another nail art one though. Will get some swatches and something different on here soon! I have so many different ideas but just don't want to bore the pants off you by doing to much of the same thing at once!

Also if this post is up it means that I have conquered technology and have scheduled this post to go up today as I wont have access to a computer today. BIG YAY :D

This is my second set of St Patricks nails that I have for this week.  Originally this was supposed to be a shamrock rainbow but it went a little wrong so I have just done shamrock polka dots on a white green and gold background. I definitely think it went well but it still doesn't beat the ones that I posted on Monday.

What do you guys think?  Have you seen any other great St Patricks Day nails?

Nail A+E

This week I have had to perform emergency surgery on one of my nails that had split so far up my nail it would have been painful (and bloody) to rip off and start over.  It also would have taken till Christmas for the nail to grow back to a normal length.

Anyway thanks to LOVE4NAILS you tube channel I found out exactly how to fix it till I am able to file it down or trim it.  Best thing was I had all of the items I needed at home already! All you need is a tea bag (emptied), some nail glue and scissors.  LOVE4NAILS shows you how to do it using a proper kit but also says that you can use tea bags.

Once you have put the glue and the tea bag on your nail (I did 2 coats for extra strength) I then buffed it down till it was smooth and there were no ridges.
The white that is on my nail is from some nail polish I put on and when I saw loads of bumps and ridges I desded to file it down. Just didnt take the polish off first. - link to her blog - link to the video

St Patricks Nail Art

Sorry this is a little late was supposed to post this last night as I also wanted to post a Pink Wednesday post today, will have to start my Pink Wednesday posts next week.

As it is St Patricks day this week and I havent ever done any holiday themed nails I went a little bit overboard with this one.  I have done about 4 nail art designs not sure if all of them are going to make the blog though. Below is my favourite.  Let me know if you would like to know about any of the colours and I will add them (am at work and cant look at the bottles)

Have had a very productive weekend.  I managed to get my Nail room sorted and it looks so much better than I thought it would.  All my nail polishes are on show and I have room for when clients come round or for when i want to practice some nail art designs. Speaking of which I am very excited this week as I have my first 2 clients for Sammy's Nails :D

Cupcake Nails

As it is coming into the Spring I though I would blog about some bright and colourful nails! So Cupcake Nail art it is :D

This week has been very busy for me.  I set up both my Flckr page for all of my nail art, my facebook page to advertise my little on the side job and an email for anyone to contact me on about nail art bookings etc :D My efforts trying to set up a Flckr account were very stressful!! It wasnt until then that I realised even at the age of 22 I have become a technaphobe! The moment  everything started to get complicated I really didnt want to set anything up! Thank god Blogger is so easy to use!

At first I wasnt sure if I was going to be able to do cupcake nails.  Once I had done them though they were one of the easiest nail art designs that I had ever done!

I will say they are definately not as good as where I got my inspiration from.  I have posted a link at the bottom for you to take a look at Chit Chat nails blog!! (Her's is a lot better than mine!)

I saw these and instantly said I have to do that on my nails! I am also now in love with Pretty and Polished - Party on My Yacht which is the white glitter colour that chit chat nails has used! Only problem is I just dont know where to get any from!!

Cant wait for a couple of posts coming up next week.  I have had great sucess with Faded blue polka dot nails and as its St Paddys day I will also try and get some themed nail art up!! <-- Check this blog!!
